Frame Rail C-Channel Dimensions
Hey folks, I need some info that I could not come up with after an exhaustive search of this site and the web. I only need two measurements. The height, and width of the frame rail itself. The actual C-channel. I know both dimensions change throughout the length of the rail, but if someone could give me those measurements somewhere around the middle of the rail (where it be at its biggest). Hopefully you understand what I'm looking for and can help me.
Thanks P.S. Also, it would killer if someone could also get me some rough measurements from the upper and lower control arms too. I might have to draw a picture to show what I need on those tho lol. Last edited by optimus_primer; 10-25-2013 at 09:47 PM. Reason: Forgot something... |

Re: Frame Rail C-Channel Dimensions
Anyone? Anyone? I'm about to start a 1/25 scale version of one and the one piece chassis on the model is well... useless as far as detail.
And if it wasn't clear( I noticed I didn't say in the first post), this is a 72 short bed that I need the info for. |

Re: Frame Rail C-Channel Dimensions
Thanks for the link John. I've actually seen that link but it was on the 73-87 forum and thought that it wouldn't apply to 67-72. I didn't think they had the same frames?

Re: Frame Rail C-Channel Dimensions
Did a little more looking and I can almost certainly say that the chart in that link is not for at least a 72(most likely not for 67 up also) Mainly because the wheelbases listed are not 115 and 127(short and long bed) also, the production numbers for 72 from I have found are CE10734 for a V8 short bed and CE10934 for a V8 long bed. Those production numbers are not on the previously mentioned chart. So again, does anyone have or can get those two little measurements for me? I hate to be a nag and I'm certainly not trying to be, but it would be a HUGE help.
Thanks gang. |

Re: Frame Rail C-Channel Dimensions
6" high x 2 3/8 " wide. I measured just behind the transmission cross member.
Mine is a 67 short bed. |
