Spotted a cool truck! Stepside.

I was coming home from work and happened to notice this stepside at a gas station...I IMMEDIATELLY PULLED IN THERE.

The owner bought it off a guy who "tried to race it."

350 now, was a 327. 4 speed manual (not original), bucket seats. Typical rust areas (bad bondo work), still has wood bed. Long wheel base. Power steering, manual brakes.

Neat 1967 Custom 10. Oh ya, I left a card....the owner wants to keep it but did mention "money problems." I really don't know where I'd put it but if the money was right, I'd make room!

I didn't think there were any more "daily drivers" like this around my area!

don't blame you for trying to buy it. I could not help but notice the price of fuel, today I paid 2.96. Good luck on the truck.

Ha! I was thinking the exact same... not quite 2.96 but 3.17 today... Oh, and I too stopped to look at another truck that I really had no place for. 69 short fleet. Too rough to make it worth it though, and I don't even know the price. I like the long stepper though.

Re: Spotted a cool truck! Stepside.

I like the back ground in the picture. I lived near Milton, WV for 18 months. I was driving a 72 with a BUILT 358 engine, TH 400, 3.73 rear gears, dual 3 inch exhaust which sounded awesome, pulling a 26 foot long 5th wheel that I was living in at the time. I had a great job as a flight instructor and loved living in the rural area, but once I gained experience I had to leave to make a livable wage. I also noticed the price of gas.... saw 2.969 today here in northwest New Mexico.... too bad I drive a diesel. oh... buy the truck if you can, dont let it go to a recycler.

Cool truck. Not too sure about the "tried to race it" story, though. Isn't that a standardized expression? It's just a cool old longbed Stepside. Good enough.

What is your area?

My thoughts exactly. Not sure the long wheel base is very conducive to weight transfer.
