Vent Glass Removal
How do I remove the vent glass from my '53? Can I easily remove the vent window trim or is it pretty permanent? The area pictured where the trim attaches to the door is the area in question. Will I have to drill out what appears to be a rivet? Also, how do I get the glass out of the metal trim? Thanks in advance for any help.

The glass is just pressed in the frame with the gasket.
lub, yank, and pry it out New one goes back in the same way |

Chevy service manual says to hit it with gasoline to free it up.---Jack

I used some mineral spirits and pried around on it with a screwdriver. It was in a couple pieces when it came out but it was already shot anyway. Ready for new glass now. Thank you all for the help.

do a good cleaning on the glass frame - make sure you get it rust free ( if there is rust)
also if you are using new window rubber - use warm water and dish detergent - soak the new stuff will make it go in easier --- good luck |
