72 K10 I want posi
I have the factory 12 bolt 3.07 rear axle. What would be me best bet for getting a posi track rearend? Originally I thought I would swap it for a 14 bolt but I really don't want to change my front ratio. Are there 3.07 posi track rear ends floating around out there? Any advice is appreciated as I know little about the subject.

Re: 72 K10 I want posi
Id look into a lunch box locker like a LockRite or Aussie. Super simple to install, no taking out the R&P, and very inexpensive. Simply replace the spiders with it and you will be locked when going straight.

Re: 72 K10 I want posi
There are 3.07 posi rears out there. My Jimmy came that way and a junkyard rear that we got in the 80's was that way as well. You can buy an Eaton posi for the truck diff as well as an Auburn.
Read more about the lunch-box style lockers online. Some people love them on the street, some hate them. Not recommended for short wheelbase vehicles. With that said... I'm getting ready to put Powertrax No-Slips in my '79 CJ-5 with 4.57 gears. The No-Slip is supposed to be one of the most street friendly of the drop in lockers, but it is by far the most expensive. Both my '44 MB and my '52 M38A1 have Lock-Rights in them and I am a big fan. But they see NO street duty. My '79 will have an occasional blast on the road, but not too far. CJ-5's and highway driving don't mix well nor do the 4.57's...
