Las Vegas CL AD: (not mine) 1957 Chevy Suburban "NAPCO" 4x4
OK.. Priced to sell now!! Up for sell is a nearly complete 1957 Chevy Suburban NAPCO 4x4. The only missing part is the rear Differential. The motor and all NAPCO 4x4 parts are there. The motor turns, but does not run. The truck was once used for Gamma Logging in the Colorado Rockies (Plutonium Mining). The body condition is what you would expect for a truck of its UN-restored "original condition", surface rust, dents and a hole in the roof for a since removed wood stove. truck rolls, but no brakes. $3250 http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/4187138436.html |

Cool truck. I think he meant to say "uranium mining". He is probably scaring away a lot of buyers.

I have a stove that would fit. Probably could pick it out in parking lot in the dark. Price is fair, rearend is not a big deal, lots of guys tossing the stock ones to upgrade to 5 lug.

The add was actually posted after SEMA left town, he blew it on that one. Looks like a pretty solid panel for someone with a lot of potential. "restored" to it's prospecting days might be pretty nifty and save having to figure out how to weld the holes up.

Appears to me to be a Panel truck with a window cut into the side and Suburban barn doors added, not really a Suburban.

Re: Las Vegas CL AD: (not mine) 1957 Chevy Suburban "NAPCO" 4x4
The guy just listed it wrong as it is simply a panel with a Napco conversion. The rear doors are standard on a panel.Easy to convert back to 2wd since all the parts simply unbolt and the rearend is a easy fix. It probably will run with a little tinkering, pretty hard to kill a 235.

Re: Las Vegas CL AD: (not mine) 1957 Chevy Suburban "NAPCO" 4x4
Unless it isn't a factory Neapco conversion why would a guy want to convert it back to 2 wheel drive and end up with just "another" two wheel drive panel truck that appears to be 3/4 ton and long wheel base to boot?
I can see filling in the holes in the side panels where the windows are and the hole in the top where the stove pipe was but the truck's history and heritage speak big here and I am one who is always changing them saying that.

Lots of work for someone but it would be a cool vehicle if done right.

Re: Las Vegas CL AD: (not mine) 1957 Chevy Suburban "NAPCO" 4x4
Wasn't it 1960 before 4x4 became a factory option? Until then the parts came in crates and the dealer installed them.
