Hood problems
What do you do if your bolt holes in your hood strip out?? I had a buddy who just put a small hole in the backside just big enough that he could ge a wrench in there and put a nut behind it.

I'd weld it in, drill it, and re-tap it.

The dope smoking old man who had my truck before me broke one of the springs on the hood. He realized that the hood would still stay up with just the one spring, although crooked.
Just after i bought it, the hood started to rip where one of the hood bolts was taking all the stress. I ended up grinding a hole to access the back side of it and then used a 3/8 nut and bolt. I would not do that on a nice truck, but it will fix the problem if your truck is less than perfect. |
