Re: Oil leak from around the oil filter? HELP.

Do you have a external oil cooler? If so look for leaks around the hose side of the fittings. Might check the O ring sealer on the filter... look for two of them or the one that is there could have accidently been damaged when it was installed.

Then again, it is a cartridge filter or a canister filter? If a canister, look for two oil rings up in the block. Might have to take a metal pick and make sure the lip is clean. I cant tell you how many times I accidently let the O ring get a little twisted and then didnt notice it until it started leaking.
