Re: steering wheel 4 fat guys ???
It wasn't a room issue for me,but I just like the style better.Been swapping a wheel from the 88-98 GM trucks & they work good on mine.Fits nice, horn works & it's not such a big skinny wheel in front of you.I used to use a foam/chrome wheel years ago,but could never get the horn to work all the time.

Re: steering wheel 4 fat guys ???
grant 13.5s fit good. collapsing the column 2 inches is the best idea though.

Re: steering wheel 4 fat guys ???
You can look at the junk yard for a Cadillac tilt teloscopic column. A while back, I found a nice one in a 78 and it looked very similar to the truck columns. Also, the 88-98 wheels work great.

Re: steering wheel 4 fat guys ???
I run Lacarra aluminum wheels in my 84 and my sons 86 trucks. We are large built persons so this was a consideration when I bought them. I also loosened all of the clamps and bolts on the columns and moved them forward about 3/4 of an inch to gain a little more room.

Re: steering wheel 4 fat guys ???
This place has had the best prices on the Lecarra wheels, if you are interested. Good looking wheels and the leather is well done on them.
