Front motor mounts

I have a 1963 GMC Suburban (4x4) and the big 305 V-6 puked on me. I have pulled that, and am replacing it with a 350 V-8.

My first hurdle was finding a bell housing that would fit the V-8, yet support the hydraulic clutch. I found that, and got the engine mated up to the transmission this weekend, got the bellhousing bolted down to the rear crossmember, and I now see that my front motor mounts are too far forward and do not "reach out" from the frame far enough to reach the engine mounts on the 350.

I got the grinder out and got the pins out of the motor mounts, so I can move them back far enough on the frame so that they line up, but how do I shim it out to reach the motormounts?

Should I be looking for a fabrication solution, or are there stock motormounts that would support a V-8 in that rig? I have been calling junk yards in the area, and none are coming up with any solutions.

V-8 in a 4x4 '63 Suburban. Front frame mounts.

ANy ideas or suggestions?

Much appreciated.
