60-63 windshield question
Hello, I'm looking for a new windshield and can only seem to find the green tinted ones. Anybody have any pics of the green tinted winshields? How do they look with the rest of the glass being clear? Also, Where do you all shop for windshields? Any advice will help me make a decision cause I've been dragging my feet mulling it over and I have a very limited budget right now.
Thanks in advance! |

here is where you can get a clear one if you want. They have clear, green tint, grey tint, and top shade all available. Seems to be about average on price. http://www.premierstreetrod.com/deta...indshield.html |

Re: 60-63 windshield question
I got my windshield at Techna glass, if I remember right it was under $300 installed. Mine is all clear but they have the other options.

Re: 60-63 windshield question
I got mine from a local shop in Killeen, Tx. Most glass places do have them or can get them. I got the front glass with install and he installed the rear for $ 220. Just call around.

Re: 60-63 windshield question
Thanks,
I'd still like to see some pics if anyone has the green tinted. I'll have to check the local shops and see if I can find any deals. |

Re: 60-63 windshield question
My custom camper came from the factory with tinted windshield and the rest clear. It was part of the CC package. I can barely notice the difference unless I'm really looking for it.

Re: 60-63 windshield question
No glass shops around me have the wrap around clear glass as pilkington and others stopped production of the clear, (as I was informed) they do have tinted and or shaded for around 250 installed. Maybe most of their sales come from warmer climates where tint is preferred. I found one on craigs list but if you want a new clear glass for a knee knocker you can order them from classic industries or similar companies, but the shipping is pricey.

Re: 60-63 windshield question
My windshield is a green tint Pilkington. I can’t tell the difference from clear unless I look through both sides of the windshield, which looks darker than the side glass. My wife says it casts a green tint when looking at the lower stainless trim. There are pictures of the windshield in and out of the truck at post 362 on page 15 of my build thread:

Re: 60-63 windshield question
The windshield in markeb01's post is a much lighter tint than the one I saw. There must be more than one supplier and different shades of tint. The one they tried to sell me was green tint with a gray shade. I could tell they wanted to get rid of it.
