70 c10 Headlights Problem

Hope someone can help me figure this out. Recently, my right passenger side headlight stopped working. I bought a replacement bulb and installed it, but it only works on low beam. The high beam won't work. The left bulb continues work on both settings. I checked the new bulb, and it's designed for both low and high beam settings. I read some earlier threads on here about similar situations, and some said the problem might be the floor mounted headlight dimmer switch. Mine definitely has its issues. Sometimes, when shifting between low and high beams, the lights go out altogether, and the red high beam indicator light on the dash doesn't show. Perhaps that's it.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks!

Check the ground at the light. if it were the switch both low or high would be out. Also check that the new bulb is good. put it in the other side. Then replace the dimmer because it should never turn off the lights.

Re: 70 c10 Headlights Problem

dimmer switch first, sounds like its bad..
check connections on the hi beam wire to the pass light, see if it has voltage..
never hurts to check/clean grounds..
