Re: wheel cover

If you are running a disc front axle 73 and newer steel wheels. Earlier will not clear the disc calipers. They come in 15" but 16" was more common on the 4wd pickups. I think six lug are all the same width and offset, 8 lug came in wider wheels for the "Longhorn and Camper" options.

Re: wheel cover

I'm thinking standard 70's through 1987 15 inch six lug 4x4 rims. don't make it more expensive or complicated than you need to. You should be able to run down a set fairly easily.

I'm not sure that the caps will stay on the trailer wheels that lynx5653 showed.

Re: wheel cover

They should measure 10.25" across the place poverty caps would mount and have a larger back side opening to allow for the caliper. I can measure mine tomorrow.

Here is a photo of another poverty cap that will fit the 15-16" truck wheel with the 10.25" lugs. It was used on 66-70 Chevy COPO applications so they are highly desirable. Since they are car caps no front 4wd version, they would need to me drilled for the hubs.

Those do appear to be correct but unless you just flat have to have new rims and nothing else will do, there should be stock Chevy 4x4 rims available for about 15 bucks each. Weighing the cost of new ready to go ones against 15 or 20 for a used one plus cleaning it up and painting it might get the price difference a lot closer though. I tend to forget that guys in your area may have a lot harder time finding good mid 70's rims used than I can in my area. A ten minute drive and fifteen minute hunt will produce a set here.

Here if you look around you can usually find them with old tires mounted because the guy doesn't want to pay $5 to get them unmounted and $3 to dispose of the tire!

Here is a pic of the wheel caliper relationship. You can see the distance from the edge of the rim to where it goes towards the center is about an inch and it goes in aways before wrapping behind the caliper.

Re: wheel cover

What are those caps? They have outside holes like a '90-ish K truck but a center hub cutout. They're definitely not the '67-'77 Chevrolet "Deluxe" hubcap but maybe designed to fit the same wheel?

If they are intended to clip inside the wheel then you should be fine with nearly any stock steel wheel from '55 until the new design '88 trucks. The wheels in '88, although mostly 16", didn't have as much recess and some caps don't like to fit. Then again, my chrome rings are from a 1995 or so pickup and they fit on my wheels reasonably well.

You know, I wonder if older Toyota 4X4 wheels would be a decent replacement for stock appearing vehicles.
