Re: front clip removal
You don't need to remove clip to swap motor. I always pull the radiator and Hood. The side elbows need to come off to get to the top fender bolts. The lower bolts and radiator core bolts firewall bolts.

Re: front clip removal
I used yours to highlight bolts for full front clip removal. There are also rear lower bolts not in picture. Don't forget the little cover for steering. Nice to work on clean engine compartments.

Re: front clip removal
Remove the 14 bolts as shown in the pic above and just lift the whole thing out of your way. The nice thing about it is being able to clean up the frame and inner fenders and giving them a fresh coat of paint if that is what you want. Also.. While you are unbolting it take notes on how many spacers come out and maybe label them so you know exactly how many to put back in certain places.

Re: front clip removal
thanks guys. the reason I want to pull the front clip is I wasn't to pull my tranny with it. the top bolts on the 2004r are hard to get to and I want to change my flexplate also

Re: front clip removal
I'm going to do the same thing in the spring. Mostly to clean it all up but my rear main leaks real bad.

Re: front clip removal
I've pulled many engine and trans together with just removing the hood and radiator. Unless you just want to pull the entire front clip, that's up to you, but it isn't necessary for what you are wanting to do.

Re: front clip removal
pulling the clip is fast and easy, my core support bolts were stuck but a jack popped em.
