Hub cap question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I've worn out my mouse looking for this cap that would fit 15X7 steel wheels with the hub cap bumps. Any leads?

I think he's looking for a stock appearing 47-53 cap to fit the 60 and later wheels.
I don't know of anyone that makes them, I've never seen them before.

I'd be inclined to believe Henry50 is correct in that they don't make them that way.

Ebay has plenty of caps for stock wheels with the clips from various vendors and Wheel Vintique has them for rally or smoothie style that won't fit his wheels.

I spent about 30 minutes hunting and didn't turn up anything.

You might be able to take a set of baby moons that fit your wheels and cut a stencil so you could letter them. They wouldn't pass close inspection but would pass the 30 ft test.

The local stick on graphics guy might be able to make you some decals that you could stick on the baby moons too. Taht would cost a few bucks but would be simple to do.

You can install inside clips in the wheel but the nubs would probably be visible.

Call the Wheelsmith. They can modify hubcaps to fit other wheels.

Wheelsmith also shows a "hub cap adapter" but doesn't elaborate on what it does. I give them a call. Thanks for the tip.

The adapters make it so those eight smaller earlier caps on the left will work

I had looked and looked for them for my 3/4 ton 16" wheels. I ended up finding some moons from Hubcapmike.com that would fit. That floating rear axel is a bear to cover.

I had an old 50 ford I did and I just took baby moons and had decals made to make them look original.

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
