Definitely the black ring. Who made the new front end?

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

I say go with the black ring. Matches the rim better I think.

Also when you get ready to put that IF'S in, can you take lots of photo's?
That's pretty much the same front end I've been looking at putting on my truck.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was that?
The one I was looking at is $6,900

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

All the pricing is on their website, there are too many choice options to just go by someone else's optioned price.

Only thing I had was I got in on the group buy and that was 18% off the base kit price of $2895 for the mustang 2 spindle front, after that it all depends on how you want it.

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

Now those are reasonable prices.

You wouldn't happen to know the prices for the things listed in the "Options Available", would you?

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

Awesome thanks.

Did you get an options added on to what you bought or did you just buy the standard kit?

So then all it takes is to bolt it in, hook a few things up, put your wheels on, and be on your way?

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

what was your main reason for going with scotts over porterbuilt or no-limit? They all look sweet and I cant decide... Scott's was easy to work with the little bit of business I've done with them.

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

I wanted a light weight drag race setup that was bare as possible, I liked how they did their shock mounts plus the motor mounts and how they are on the inner frame reinforcements. When I looked online at different setups theirs looked the best for my needs.

I optioned the Wilwood dyna light brake kit with two piece rotors and aluminum hubs.
AFCO double adjustable shocks.
SS Brake lines, braided hoses and fittings
Powder coat
No sway bar
Manual rack
BBC motor mounts

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

Very nice. My list clame pretty close to what you already have. I'll be looking at others though too before I buy.

As for motor mounts go, is it possible to buy without the motor mounts?
My truck doesn't have a sbc, bbc, nor ls motor.

Yes if you choose no mounts it just comes with bare inner frame supports.

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

Sweet thanks for all the info.

Do you know if it narrows the front end at all? If so how much would you say?

Also if it does narrow the front, is there a way to push the tires back out other than spacers?

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

From drums it narrows 3" total, they say a bit less from factory disc brakes, I haven't measured mine out yet to see.

I honestly would avoid spacers if you can.

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

I've been told by a lot of people to avoid spacers. But then it makes me wonder what other way is there to push the wheels back out with this set up.

Re: Like Regan, I also bought my own Christmas

Can't remember what company, but in net my search I found one that widened the track width, but it was a heavier setup thus no good to shave as much weight as possible for drag racing so I didn't look into it that much.

Anyway as a update, when I ordered mine I had asked for stock track width, the regular setup they does narrow by 3" from factory drums, but you can get it a bit wider to match stock width of factory discs. So I ordered it stock width, or as close as they could.

Anyway I mocked mine up and took measurements and it looks to be 3" narrower, I called Scotts and inquired about it, seems there was a misunderstanding on my build sheet where I asked if it was 3" narrower and it was built that way by mistake. They are building me another set of A arms for stock width and shipping no charge plus paying the shipping back for the ones I have.

I likely wouldn't be so worried about it if I wasn't running 4" rims on the front and have it setup now with the stance I like so don't want to mess with it.

It will be awhile before I get the new parts and can mock it back up and measure if it gets me the width I want.

Very nice..

Scotts has very attention to detail.

Porter built is great and all but even when I was in AZ getting ahold of those guys is a huge PIA. I bought else where.

I like the billet look! Remember the tires will be black so that fat silver lip will look killer! Nice choice.

Not yet, haven't got the tires I'm going to be running yet, and still putting a few parts together before I start working on it. Will likely be a month or so before I start the front end swap.
