Aftermarket vs Factory A/C Comparisons
I would like to pose the question whether the aftermarket A/C kits (Vintage Air, Old Air, etc) perform well enough to cool the entire cab of a Blazer/Jimmy?
And also if anyone has a comparison of the factory A/C systems compared to aftermarket A/C. I know this has been asked in the past, but I've not found a real concensus on an answer. I think this topic would greatly interest many people, so please let's hear from RUNNING and DRIVING Blazer and Jimmy owners that have actual first hand experience. Thanks! |

Re: Aftermarket vs Factory A/C Comparisons
I have factory air and just need a charge so this a question I would like to see answered. I also wonder if a newer compressor would improve the capacity of the system. Especially if you are doing an LS swap. Vintage air is nice but if you can keep stock and be cheaper why not.

Re: Aftermarket vs Factory A/C Comparisons
My 1970 Blazer which I am now restoring and haven't run in a while made me wonder the same question. Searching online I found and article by a person who restored car professionally. They were giving steps on how to adjust your POA valve or what one to use to make your old system perform like it did on R12 with 134a. If memory is correct R12 is supposed to be cooler. Anyway the computer crashed and I lost the article. I am sure you could search that and fined some info
