Re: Family Bet

I think the truck might attract more... granted the '69 has a way bigger following. In my area I havent seen too many trucks like ours. A Quaker Steak and lube up here holds a car night every thursday in the summer and they usually bring in 100-150 cars/trucks every week. There always tends to be a decent huddle around my truck compared to alot of the muscle cars. I think mainly cause im the only truck like ours there. At one of the last events this year i was harassing my dad cause more people were looking at my truck instead of his '38 chevy sedan street rod haha

Re: Family Bet

Both have their appeal, but I gotta agree with oem4me. I went to the Goodguys show in the fall at TX Motor Speedway, and one of my favorites was a fully restored 66 C10.

But to each their own, that's why this is a great hobby.

Re: Family Bet

The Good Guys is a good show and you get a lot of variety of vehicles there. I went to a small local show with my 64 C10 and parked. As I was getting out of my truck some clown came over and told me "Sir - you'll need to move your truck we're having a car show here" At least with the Good Guys once you're in thy don't mess with you.

Re: Family Bet

I had a nice nova that got lots of looks but I tell ya, this 64 gmc has people at it almost everytime I stop. And it's not that nice. It's neither original or extremely bad ass. These trucks just have so much character. Much like a wagon I bet. Especially since most people can relate to a cheap old truck knowing that a nice camaro cost more than they could afford. I think you did the right thing giving your dad hell. As a dad myself, would have been tickled to death just knowing my son was excited to go to the car show with me. Keep the old man on his toes and have fun.

Re: Family Bet

No one will pay any attention to that crappy camaro. How many boards can you haul in it?
Can you pull a stump with it then haul the stump?
Pwnt!

If i wanted to go fast I'd just jump out a window. Trucks are for getting stuff handled! HOOAHH!

Good luck at the show! Be sure to send us some pix

Re: Family Bet

I believe its a color issue that draws attention if I had two of mine at a show several times, `69 camaro and my `64 c10, the camaro hands down took the views, if I put my `37 coupe and camaro at the same show the coupe gets the views, the camaro being white, the coupe being black.

Re: Family Bet

I think color does have some to do with it. I've had alot of people come up to look and ask about the color on my truck alot cause its similar to factory but with a metalic and pearl. So they have to ask if they had that color back then lol Anyways for reference heres a pic of my truck
