Hi David, I drilled the face of the water pump and installed the stock sender. ls runs hotter than 1968 standards, gauge read about 3/4th scale. Installed a variable resistor potentiometer in-line and dialed the gauge down to read colder to the 1/2 scale i was looking for. If memory serves me correctly it was a 4 ohm 1/2 watt resistor. I shined up the sender brass terminal for good connections and consistency. Works spot on every time. Pulling the airstream in hot weather it runs about 5/8th scale, equal to about 208 degrees F.
