Question Looking for info

I need to paint my 72' console. Any advice on
doing this would be greatly appreciated.

remove all the trim hinges ect.
throw it in the dishwasher {when the wifes not home}
after it dry paint it with upostery dye, comes in a spray can at auto zone or pepboys or....
do your visers and armrests while your at it.
