question on intsalling cpp drop cross member
I have cut out the rivets that hold the cross member and cut the cross member out . I left the rivets in front and back on the bottom of the cross member and would like to leave them. Can I install the new cross member and still leave these rivets on or will I have to cut them out to get the member in?

Re: question on intsalling cpp drop cross member
Are you speaking on the 2 brackets on either side of the frame on the bottom for support? If so yes you can leave them. I bought the same cross-member and wished I would have bought an early classic enterprises one because of the way they bolt the plates on so you can adjust your rear trailing arms. Also Iv'e seen on here where people say that CPP messed up on the location they welded the tabs on? maybe someone will chime in...

Re: question on intsalling cpp drop cross member
Also, nice build ya got going there! I just read your thread, I also noticed that your running the same cpp shocks as I bought could you please verify them to fitting the stock lower control arms as mine didn't so I had CPP Jeff send me replacement bushings so I could machine/face them off in the lathe so they would fit!...If you click on my signiture or link thing you can see my crossmember it's all stock! except the Mcgaughys dropped spindles and the cpp 1'' drop spings...I believe the bushings were about .120-.180 to long to fit in the lower control arm!
Peace, Kev...
