Grille Adaptor
Does anyone know of a "grille adapter" for a 1969 C10?
Let me further explain, I have a 1969 Chevy C10 that a previous owner has swapped the grille for a GMC Grille and Core support, so that is going to have to go anyways, as I am a fan of the Chevy. Here is my other problem, I'm a big fan of the 1968 Grille, but to achieve that look I'm going to have to change out the fenders, hood, core support, and grille to get that look. I am wondering if anyone has knowledge of a grille that is styled like a 1968 but fits the 1969 setup. OR I guess I could hope to find some one with a 1968 Chevy front clip who would like to trade for the GMC setup. Unlikely though.

I don't know of any '67-'68 grille conversions for the '69. The easiest thing to do is to swap the whole front clip. I think there are 10 bolts and disconnect the wire loom at the firewall, the radiator hoses, and trans cooler lines (if it has them) and you can lift the whole front clip off in one piece, including the hood. Do a search on craigslist for a '67-'68 front clip or put a wanted to trade on there and see what happens... LockDoc

Re: Grille Adaptor
Gmc fenders are the same as 67-68 chevy, the core support will need at least modified to fit the one headlight instead of two. The of course if yours has the 69-72 hood that will have to be changed along with the hood latch. If it does have the 69-72 hood I'd just get a 67-8 core support to make it easier

Excuse the Old Man, That's the crazy man that called me and said he has a project for me. He is a pretty steller dude. The truck still looks exactly as it does here. I have only has it about 3 weeks, and I'm in need of a new welder before I get crazy with anything. My first move is to Shorten the frame to a SWB length. but I'm trying to get the frond end situation figured out in the meantime. It is a Chevy (Chevy Tailgate and VIN)

Just a heads up guys. Remember, you can't buy or sell parts on the board unless you are a paying member and your name is in Blue. If you see parts you need for sale on the classified forum, you can buy those parts but you can't post a for sale, wanted to buy, or want to trade unless you subscribe. Re: Grille Adaptor
Like mentioned above, those may be the right fenders, but it is possible to redneck the GMC trim over the 69-72 chevy fenders. I'd take off a piece of trim and check. IF they are GMC fenders (GMC's used same fenders from 67-72 as chevy did for 67-68 except for no side markers in 67) all you would need is the 67/68 grille, core support, and hood!

Re: Grille Adaptor
The first pic is what you want to see, 67/68 chevy and/or 67-72 GMC. 2nd pic is 69-72 chevy.

Re: Grille Adaptor
Well it's been much longer than "this weekend", but that's life!
I figured out that I have a 69-72 set of Chevy fenders. The next question is what all needs to be done to convert the Core Support over (from GMC to Chevy) or is it even possible?
