THink its worth picking up?

Going to look at this truck this weekend. WOuld like to have one to have as a shop/driver since my camaro motor went boom. 66 gmc custom. inline 6, motor will spin over. Probably get it for $700, but havent gotten there to really look at it. what do you all think? Was told there was some rust starting in the cab corners..clean title though.

Re: THink its worth picking up?

If all it has is a little rust in the cab corners and the rest of the metal is good it is a good deal. From what I could see in the ad I would go take a look.

I agree, pretty good price.

Like the 4-Speed part.

Re: THink its worth picking up?

Get it. I'll bet that the straight 6 will run with a little work. Those engines will run forever, and when they quit running, it's usually a fuel or ignition issue, rarely ever a longblock issue.

Jump all over that one! Nice patina, get it running and stopping and then drive the heck out of it.

Re: THink its worth picking up?

Well I brought it home. Not a bad little pickup..did have a question as to the fold down center on the seats and matching door panels. How many had these?

Re: THink its worth picking up?

I've seen one 66 gmc on here with the same seats. Door panels are covered in same material even on the bottom of the doors. I think the other one is from Oklahoma but i don't remember the name.

Found it. Almost the same truck with less options.

Re: THink its worth picking up?

Those GMC-only seats, center section, and door panels are worth 75% of what you paid for the entire truck. You did good, dude!!

There are a lot of options on that GMC. If you can get the engine running, you'll be way ahead of the curve!

Re: THink its worth picking up?

Going to try to get it running with my brother. Its been pretty cold here so we havent been able to get to power washing it, but its all there. Points, fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs, wires, etc etc. Of course flush all the lines out. So we will see what it can do.
