Feel my pain....

I've been getting lazy in my middle age and getting my wood delivered. For 250 bucks I get somewhere between 5-6 cords and I thought it was way to convenient instead of burning 25-30 bucks in gas every time I go in the bush. The first two loads got dumped off no problem so I wasnt too concerned when this last one came, even though I was standing right beside my newly painted, new rubber seals etc top for my Blazer.Anyways long story short two logs swung on top of the load as he dumped and they were 16 feet long and my top was 15 feet away.Standing next to the top it was like slo motion watching it happen, for a split second I thought about trying to push it out of the way but being an ex logger seen what a little log can do to you so because there were two of them I chickened out. After it happened the driver hops out and has the nerve to say "Good thing you have another one"Not what I wanted to hear right at the time.

Re: Feel my pain....

Well that sucks but at least the double wall tops are fairly common. Did the guy offer anything for the damage?

Re: Feel my pain....

Ouch, sounds like he owes you about 10 cords of free wood. Love the color of your truck BTW.

OUCH!

I don't think any amount of duct tape and bondo is going to fix that.

Re: Feel my pain....

Man, that's sad. Yeah, 10 'free' cords should about cover it. Nice green Blazer.

On another subject; where'd you find the roll bar?

Anyone know where to find that style? I don't think I want the style that comes down under the dash.

There's some advertised on eBay and the like, but I think I'd like to find one that is fitted for my 72.

Any ideas?

Re: Feel my pain....

I did get that load for free...well obviously not free but would have been hard to pay and the damage.I had a machinist make me the rollbar with dimensions and pics I got off our site.I looked for one for quite awhile but finally gave up and paid the 300 dollars, shipping would have been a ***** anyway

Re: Feel my pain....

Thanks ALS. I don't remember ever installing one. What do they bolt to? I'm not against making one. I've got a master welder working for my and that wouldn't be a problem for him to build.

Do you have to cut through the floor and attach to the frame?

Re: Feel my pain....

No cutting. Most bolt to the upper bed floor and then the rear wheel wells.
