carb tuning
I have a 1966 c10 with a single barrel carb.was wondering on how to tune it.my truck idles slightly high.any suggestions will definitely help.thanks

Welcome to the forum!
Work the throttle linkage that goes from the cab to the carb; you will notice an adjustment screw on the back of the carb that the throttle shaft coming out of the carb rests on at idle. Find that and just back it off a little until the idle is where you like it, assuming that's the only thing that's not right. If it doesn't run quite right you might need to tune it, but the idle speed is simple. Just back that screw off when it's running until the idle is where you like it. (With the engine at operating temp, obviously.) |

Here's a (bad) picture for reference; the idle adjustment is the rubber-capped thing with the nut and wire terminal on the end of it that's in the middle of the picture. Yours will probably be just a screw, and may look a little different if it's the early "correct" carb, but you get the idea.
