72 C10 Throttle Cable or Linkage
Can you use a mechanical linkage set up on a 72 c10 for the throttle, similar to what was used in 69? or is it only set up for throttle cable set ups? If you can use the mechanical linkage set up what would need to be done in order to set that up?

Re: 72 C10 Throttle Cable or Linkage
The firewall is different on 69 and 72 models, but if you really want to hack it up, you could put the rod linkage through there. Also, the 69 pedal is attached to the floor, 71 is not.

Re: 72 C10 Throttle Cable or Linkage
Why would you want to?
The cable is an improvement over the rod. Since it flexs with engine movement from a fixed point on the engine it cannot jam open like a rod can.

Oh ok, I didn't realize it was an improvement lol. I had thought about using a rod for easier adjustment because I swapped an i6 for a 327 and the cable is too long so I was looking for easy adjustment Thanks for the info guys!

Re: 72 C10 Throttle Cable or Linkage
There were several different cable lengths.
Suggest getting a cable for a 4x2 application V8 if your 327 is in the correct factory forward engine mount location and if you simply reused the rear I6 engine mount location then use a cable for 4x4 V8.

Re: 72 C10 Throttle Cable or Linkage
Yea I used the i6 mounting location. Any idea where I could get the 4x4 cable?
