Re: center console wan-a-be
Do you have the key? Is the keyed area a pull out tray or does it fold forward?

Re: center console wan-a-be
The Hickey catalog carried something similar, probably the same product.

Re: center console wan-a-be
Pete, It's close, but the one shown in my Hickey catalog doesn't have a backrest?

Re: center console wan-a-be
Harry you are correct. The console listed in the Jimmy/Blazer Hickey catalog didn't have a back rest for a third front row passenger (I have one of these). But, Hickey did list a backrest console in their FJ toyota and/or Jeep catalog I can't recall which. I have the page but am out of town at moment. It appeared similar to that above and the construction appears similar between the two although the locking mechanism differs.

Re: center console wan-a-be
That was made by Pete Condos' company Con-Ferr that was also here in Southern California. They were heavily into Jeep and Land Cruiser products and most famously known for their Port Hole Roof Racks.
There is really no Wan-a be about this it is a very different product than the factory console. It offered steel locking storage and a place to sit in a pinch. Both of which were considerations if you had a Blazer with the base (pass optional) utility seats that did not include nor offer a console from the factory. Being wider seats the factory console does not fit well between the utilitys. Nice find!
