oil pressure switch locating
Hey i swapped the 305 in my truck for a 350 and the 350 had a block plug above the oil filter where my oil pressure switch went. i have heard that people use the port behind the intake for the oil pressure but the threads are way to small for my oil switch. Is there some sort of adapter or something i'm missing?

Behind the intake is the factory spot. Although when the back of the cam wears down it will read lower pressure than is actually there, reason why your new motor has one above the filter. Gives more realistic pressure reading.

The new motor has the one above the filter blocked.. i need to know how to use the one behind the distributor.. mine old sensor wouldn't thread into it.

Mine is above the block. It has 2or 3 adapters, But i have a mechanical guage now. It... Kinda works.

The sending unit goes behind the distributor. The oil pressure switch itself that the choke light runs through goes above the oil filter on the block. Simply undo the threaded insert on the block and screw in the switch. It will work fine.

When I switched from idiot to gauges i left it in the back of the intake
used an angle and extention to move the large sender over
