tranny question th350

i posted this in the engine and drivetrain section also



i have a 71 gmc 1500 super custom with a th350 and i just replaced the motor and noticed a wire running into the right side of the transmission next to the filler/dipstick tube and was wondering if anyone knows what this is for??????
thanks ahead of time-joe


one more is the backup light switch in the column??

that wire is for a spark control system for emissions theres a relay on the firewall near the steering column , most people just ****can it
yes the backup light switch is on the colomn right next to the neutral safety switch
