1987 V1500 Ls Swap Questions

I need advice. I went to look at a wrecked truck today. No frame damage but bed is gone, doors gone, hood and fenders gone. Its a 150k mile 01 1500 4x4 ext cab. I was told it was a 5.3 but when I got there to check vin it was a 4.8 truck.

BUMMER!!

However I can get the whole truck for under $1000. I could part out the rest to get my $ back but my question is.

If I put 4.8 in and its not enough for my 1987 V1500 longbed, how much would I have to swap to the 5.3? Bottom end, injectors, ecm reflashed. Anything else? I just don't think I can pass up this deal!!

Also anyone know how much a 1987 1500 4x4 longbed single cab weighs?
