ac and other questions / problems
i have a 1964 chevy apache c20, didn't come with ac from factory, or radio. so obviously the ac where i live is a huge deal but currently its a little out of the budget i have, trucks already been converted to 12V. what is a good temporary ac fix? would anyone put in a fan? also being it didn't come with a radio, i would have to completely wire and install every component. the seat has about 6 inches of space to floor pan. has anyone fabricated a sub / speaker box that fits under there? ( yes i could always get kick panels, but lets be creative ) and lastly is the wooden bed is totally dry rotted. the cheapest thing i could think of is to buy composite board ( deck material ) and cut it to size and replace the wood rails. is this a good idea to do as a temp until i can truly afford to do everything correct? truck also has a inline 6, 230 3.8 liter. 4 speed manual ( granny gear included ) should i get it regeard to remove the granny? or would i have to get a whole new tranny? 2nd literally gets me to a max of 12 mph then its a mid 3rd and extra long 4th
now if anyone knows a thing or two about cb radios, please answer this as well, i want to run dual whips off of my truck, was looking at cobra 29 ltd with weather, PA, night watch, or a galaxy ( not sure if thats too extreme ) but whats the best rout to do what i want? |

Re: ac and other questions / problems
The least expensive thing to put back in the bed is the pine like came in it. If you go price the deck boards you will be shocked in the cost. That are also to thick. If your bed strips are still usable you are good to go with the pine. There are list available for how many and what size boards and drawings for the groves that go in them.
