oops (junkyard kludge motor thread)

I accidentally'd a hi-mileage (+200k) 5.3 for dirt cheap.

has the infamous 706 castech heads and is full of sludge.

plans are to throw the dregs of the cheap/free junk no one on the internet wants in it and bolt it in my buddies' rig. something obnoxious to beat on for the summer and then blow up.

plans also include some sort of power adder to see for ourselves just what these things are made of.

Junkyard motor+125shot wet, will live all day long on premium pump.
OR even more ghetto
Junkyard motor +125shot dry and set the tune PIG rich so it doesn't lean out top end. Get an older washer squirter tank assembly and put hardware store methanol in it, put it on a WOT switch.

Take the combo to the local street spot, bet the car against a couple grand, profit.

Take a look at Denmah's (aka sloppy mechanics) on LS1 tech. You will be surprised.
