How can you determine where your truck was sold originally?
Has anyone found out where or what dealer your truck was sold from? Is there a way to find the dealer information? It seems like unless it is a Corvette, you can't find original dealer information.

Mine actually had the original car care guide for my truck and happened to have the primary owner's name and former address plus the lot it sold off of. The lot is long since gone but I have no clue as to how to track down that info unless you know it's been in that area it's entire life where folks can account of your trucks previous existence in the past.

I was lucky, mine had the dealer package still in the glove box with the owners manual, dealer booklet with the protecto plate. Good luck on your search.

Re: How can you determine where your truck was sold originally?
It really helps if you have the original glove box manuals. Got lucky on my stepside and had both books....none in my fleetside. The protection plan book even shows me who took original ownership (name and address) of the truck.
3C144B120042 3 = 1963 C = 2wd 14 = 1/2 ton Shotbed 115" wheelbase 4 = Pickup B = Baltimore Assembly plant 120042 = Vehicle number My truck was sold by Shumaker Chevrolet Co in Ford City, PA (about 40 miles NE of Pittsburgh) to a man in Kittanning, PA (about 4 miles from the dealership) based off the info in the trucks owner protection plan. The owner identifaction number in the book is T 419085 __________________
