Timing light suggestions?
I need to buy a timing light, any suggestions on what to get? I won't be using it a lot so I doubt I need something top of the line but I don't want one that's going to fall apart sitting in a cabinet. Thanks!

Re: Timing light suggestions?
I just bought a Actron Inductinve.
It's bare bones, but worked great for me...although first one I've ever owned? The ones that dial up the advance are better, but $$$? $25 is all I wanted to shell out for the once a year I'll use it. $50-60 for the advance ones I've seen. There's plenty here on using the non-advance lights to full effect. |

Re: Timing light suggestions?
I got one from Harbor Freight for $35 with advance dial. It works fine, advance knob is a little loose, just double check it.

Re: Timing light suggestions?
Look on Ebay for a good one or ask a tool truck guy about a trade in. I have a Mac I bought off the Matco truck for $40. I would rather have a high quality good used one than a new cheap one.

Re: Timing light suggestions?
I have a Flaming River battery powered timing light so only one wire to worry about getting into the fan. One set of D batteries have lasted 3 years.

Re: Timing light suggestions?
I have one of these but you wont be able to find one. But it works pretty good. But I would say go to sears and get one.

Re: Timing light suggestions?
If you have a MSD make sure that you dont get a digital Snap-On. It won't read out for some reason we had to use on of the older advance dial lights when we would set the timing on the racecar. It was strange but it never did work on that MSD set up but everything else.
