headlight
what would cause the right to work on bright and dim but the left side doesent work on dim. I have changed the headlight but have the same problem. Do the headlight feed from drivers side to the passenger side?

Re: headlight
Yes it goes from the drivers side to the passenger. Sounds like a bad connection. Do you have a meter to check for volts at the connector?

Re: headlight
If you have some spray contact cleaner, spray the (wiring harness side) plug. With it disconnected of course:-)

Re: headlight
I had similar issues, but only had high beam on one side. Wound up playing around wiggling wires and plugs and found the one headlight connector was getting a bad connection. I tried to clean it and bend the contacts inside a little, but it didn't help and I wound up breaking the plug.
Got 2 parts store plugs, spliced them in and problem solved.

Re: headlight
My truck was doing the same thing. I replaced my high beam foot switch and it fixed the problem

Re: headlight
I had a similar issue as well, I removed the plug at the back of the headlight and used some sandpaper on the male prongs of the headlight. Pluged it back in and it works fine.

Re: headlight
when i first got my truck the only headlights that worked were the high beams. looked over the wire and by the fuse block the low beam wire had a hole burned in it. ran a new wire from the dimmer to a better spot on original wire and they then worked.

Re: headlight
My right headligt just stopped working one day. Pulled the headlite, bench tested it and it worked. I cut the old connectors off, soldered and heat shrunk new ones on and that cured the problem.

Re: headlight
Check the headlamp plug ground wires behind the battery box on the radiator bulkhead. They can corrode, get chewed by packrats or just work loose.
