parking brake.
ok so im in the tail end of a brake upgrade on my 72 c10 swb. i decided to go with the wilwood extended e brake cable kit. so i have the new 13 in brakes in and bled. but now getting the parking brake to fully engage is being a pain. i have re run the lines about 5-6 times trying to get the slack out and I'm still not getting it to engage enough that i can't rotate the wheel by hand. btw the truck is on jack stands right now. anyone got any suggestions ideas or previous experience with this.

Only thing I have come up with is to either try and re use a factory style parking brake cable system. Or run my brake cable housings through hard line tubing to prevent the spring steel housing from moving as much. Anyone got any suggestions? Would love some help.

I would call Willwood and say W.T.F. If you have the original you could lay them side by side and see what the differences are. I assume you've already checked inside the drum to make sure everything is functioning properly. Have you tried to use the regular brakes since you assembled? Could it be that the shoes in the drums aren't adjusted? They should be resisting without the e-brake, not enough to stop you from turning them, but enough for the brakes to reach the drums without running out of movement from the brake cylinder.

I probably will be calling them. The rear is also a 13" rotor with a 4 piston caliper and an internal parking brake. I adjusted the internal drums per the instructions and still get nothing in terms of the grabbing of the parking brake when using the pedal.
