C10 to K10 rear end swap
Have a K10 with a blown rear. Neighbor has a parts truck C10. Can the rear be swapped to my truck, and I slide in my 6lug axles?
Figured it is worth a shot.

Re: C10 to K10 rear end swap
Should work ok,done this same swap on couple of my trucks a few years ago. The only thing I ran into, tried to use a heavy half rear 2wd for my 80K10. That didn't work though,if I remember correct the heavy half axles are a bit bigger diameter.Normal 2wd worked fine.

Re: C10 to K10 rear end swap
Glad to hear you have done the swap. I may need to do this.

Re: C10 to K10 rear end swap
Ya,just a matter of swapping axles for the correct bolt pattern. When I did this on my '80 K10 I was lazy & just ran the five bolt pattern from the heavy half for a while.Only drawback was I needed to pack two different spare tires.
