Cleaning carpet?

Can anybody give me some ideas, tips, or tricks on how to clean my nasty carpet? It's got a crap load of dog hair and other "unknown" substances on it... Trying to restore the interior a little at a time. Thanks for feedback

Re: Cleaning carpet?

Take to car wash, rinse and use foam brush. Rinse again. Let dry in sun for a day. The sun not only dries it but made mine warmer so it bent back easier. This helped mine some... Only problem was after that it made my door panels n seat look that much worse haha.

Re: Cleaning carpet?

Vacuum the carpet as best you can.

Spot clean the worst areas with cheap spray carpet cleaner from the dollar store - get 2 bottles.

Also get spray foam carpet cleaner from the dollar store if they have it, or get spray foam cleaner anywhere.

Sun dry is a good idea, because with all that chemical soaked into the carpet it will need drying out.

Re: Cleaning carpet?

I hang mine over a fence and pressure wash it. You'd be surprised at the nasty black water that runs off of even a clean looking carpet. If it's all intact, don't waste your money on a new carpet until you at least try pressure washing or car washing it. You'd likely be very happy with your results and save some cash.

I speak from experience on this. Just yesterday I pressure washed this carpet out of my 4x4 truck. No after pictures yet because it was still drying when I came to work this morning.

Re: Cleaning carpet?

Thanks Kevin. I just pressure washed it, then scrubbed it. It came out new looking, and smelling!

Re: Cleaning carpet?

I saved some cash by powerwashing the cheap faded aftermarket carpet that came in my C10, and then soaking it in a tub of laundry dye. Came out pretty good and now matches my black interior.

Re: Cleaning carpet?

I remove and pressure wash the carpet.
Works great I soak its spots with spray nine and let it soak in a bit first.
Seen the salt come out of carpet like froth.

Kevin, looks killer dude! Just comes to show what a little time, effort, and hard work will repay you in the end. I'll post pics of how my carpet turned out in a couple mins.
