Re: Getting ready to start a DIY backhalf job. Any tips?
Me and my daughter spent about 6 hours messing with the truck today. Got the cab off and messed with a couple issues(broken torsion bar, fuel and brake lines). Gonna ask a buddy to come over tomorrow with a welder and see if he can tack weld a few things.

Re: Getting ready to start a DIY backhalf job. Any tips?
Well, I got fired from my new job before I even got to work 1 day. Spent $200 in fuel going to training/orientation and going to the office to fill out tax/payment papers. Then I got a call today that the customer would rather take their business elsewhere than have me deliver their stuff. I'm 99% sure I don't have a bad reputation, and I have plenty of experience, + a clean driving record. Just like that, I'm jobless again. Gonna put in a couple more applications in neighboring towns before I take the plunge and go OTR driving.
As far as the truck goes, I made more progress and I'm about ready for someone to come tack weld it in. I'll post some pics tomorrow. My next step is getting some weight out of the cab. I already got lexan windows, but I may want to get some fiberglass doors and aluminum dash.

Re: Getting ready to start a DIY backhalf job. Any tips?
Still haven't got the frame together. Everytime we thought we had it leveled and squared, something came up. By the time I got to work on the truck again it would be out of alignment. I tried getting a shop to do it, but not having good luck with replies or prices. We decided to just wait again and see if we can get one of the local guys to help me when we get it leveled again.
I did finally get a new job and I like it a lot. I have money in my pocket, food on the table, and a smile on my face. Now I just need a badass little truck to drive.

I just did a Z and the hardest part was getting everything level when working alone.
Congrats on the new job!
