i hate to keep beating the same horse, but as you figured out, the power to your seat goes thru the memory module
your seat switch will only be capable of mili-amp loads and uses relays in the module to control the motors
a basic electric seat in the same type of vehicle will have a switch capable of handling the load and no memory module
