Project Colonel

Hello all, new to this site and this is my first post. I'm want to start a build thread. So here we go.

Everyone meet Colonel. Its a 78 Chevy Scottsdale 4x4. It has a 350 engine with Turbo 350 Tranny, 3.73 gears in the 12 bolt rear end. Unsure of the front axle or gears yet. I brought it home May 18th after inheriting it from my father. (My fathers nickname was Colonel so that's where the name come from!)

The pic included is it on the trailer the day I brought it home. More to come as I go along

Re: Project Colonel

My plans are a 383 stroker build, 4'' all spring suspension lift, 35'' Super Swamper Bogger tires, custom front and rear bumpers, and then just cleaning the rest of it up. I have already started painting it royal blue.

Re: Project Colonel

Here is the block for the 383 build! Already clearanced for the crank. Brass freeze plugs and New Cam bearings, all for.........$10 from my uncle that owns a machine shop. My uncle also gave me a set of vortec heads to use for a core.

I traded some parts and got a set of mid length headers, two Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Holley 670 Truck Avenger carb, Edelbrock Performer intake, a cd player, and I bought a bed, tailgate, and bumper all in great shape for $100.

Re: Project Colonel

I had the Drums turned, changed the wheel cylinders, adjusters, rear brake hose (Rough Country ext hose) and shoes.

Pic is of the Rough Country ext hose when I received it in the mail.

Re: Project Colonel

Here's some pics I've found of my wife sanding the hood a couple weeks ago, she is short and has to lay on the hood to work on it.
