Electric Rear Window
I remember an ad in the back of a hotrod type magazine in the 70's(still buried somewhere in my archives), where someone was selling a kit to convert the rear window into an electric roll down. I do remember it was from WA state. I've always had this mod in my mind, I would consider doing this to my truck !
Anyone ever seen this conversion, or have any pics, or... |

Re: Electric Rear Window
You're looking for the Powr-lite window produced by CR Laurence back in the day. I think production stopped in 85 IIRC. Check post 17 on my build thread.

Re: Electric Rear Window
I have only seen one that rolled down and that was about 17 years ago. I thought it was factory but I have no idea. The one I have in my short bed is a GM Power Slider kind of like the one INSIDIOUS posted a link to. It just slides the middle glass from right to left.

Re: Electric Rear Window
When I was a kid (early 90's), I helped a neighbor put a power rear window in his square. I remember thinking what a cool accessory it was. IIRC, he said it was made in the 80's? I also seem to remember that the unit takes up every bit of available space behind the seat... Still, I'd love one for my GMC! Does anyone have any more info on these? Thanks!

Re: Electric Rear Window
Here is an ad on my site for the CR Lawrence power rear window. Out of production obviously.
