Windshield/Roof Patch

Hey guys, I saw a thread recently on someone's build where they were putting a patch in the windshield frame. Mine is rotted out in the center of the top half of the windshield frame and I am pretty sure no one makes a patch panel. Just wanted to get some pointers before I start attacking all the rotted out areas of my cab in the next few weeks

I did the exact same thing recently on my buddies truck. You can buy a whole new roof but he didn't want to spend the money so he bought a used roof for 50 bucks. Here are some pics:

Re: Windshield/Roof Patch

I did some above windshield repairs check out my build.
Get a metal shrinker and a stretcher then you’ll be off to a good start.

Re: Windshield/Roof Patch

I think on that one the poster either formed the filler panels himself or had someone form them for him by bending them up with a brake and then using a shrinker/stretcher to get the final shape.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Windshield/Roof Patch

Thanks for the replies. I don't really want to buy a new roof or used roof. My roof is in pretty good shape besides right in the front where it meets the windshield. I'll put up some pics of the rot tonight.

I think it was BlueJeep who did some great work in this area. He used a shrinker/ stretcher and made some fine patches.
