My 16 year old Son's first truck!
Here is a picture of my 16 year son's first truck. It was a complete basket case when we bought it.... completely stripped. It's almost ready to hit the road, just waiting for the upholsterer to deliver the seat next week. Everything was done in house with the exception of paint and upholstery. Great bonding time....A few tense moment's It's has a 400 small block, TH 400 automatic transmission, lowered with CPP four wheel disc brakes, 20" Boss wheels, Ididit column, Ron Francis wiring , Vintage heat, Auto Meter gauges and more. Now it's time to jump back on my 69 Camaro!

Re: My 16 year old Son's first truck!
That is something that he should be proud of. I hope he can appreciate what he has and what it represents. Not only the freedom it offers but the sacrifice that he and undoubtedly his parents have made so that he can be in such a nice truck. Not to mention the time spent with dad on a father son project that cannot have a price tag attached to it. I would dare say that there are some that would like to have the ride that is upside down on the shop floor over what they have now[as in nothing]. I think it is an awesome truck and it is wonderful that he is getting such a great one to start out his driving life with. Of course with me in the rebuilding business and S-10's being my main deal at the time my son got a heavy and hard customized extreme stepside that was a current year with like 18,thousand miles and he helped a lot of the work. It was orange with black SS stripes up the cowl hood among lots of other details. We both loved that truck. just as this young man will love this one. Congrats. Spend all the time with them you can, you will blink your eyes and they will be grown and your back hurts and your eyes are blurry. Jim

Jim,
Thank you for the nice words, he seems to appreciate everything right now. It was a great project for us to complete together. Before you know it they are off to college! I feel this was valuable time for both of us! My only hope is that he keeps it in one piece! Thank you! |

I was 20-21 years old when I bought mine the first time. I'm sure he'll love it.

Beauty and welcome to the both of you. He will be the envy of most of the boys at school and the ones who don't are probably in the basement playing video games[ not that there is anything wrong with that]. Jim
