1965 gmc 4 row or 4 core radiator
does anyone know who makes a 4 row or 4 core radiator for a 65 gmc. after spending money on two different radiators that proved to be a waste of money we don't care how much it costs for a good 4 core radiator if we can actually drive the truck somewhere without staring at the temp gauge the whole time. our truck is so much fun to drive and such a good build but is grounded by the summer temps. we now know you get what you pay for. we already have a taurus fan and a custom made fan shroud. the engine tune is dead on.

I have an LS motor in my truck and it runs at 190 degrees with the a/c going in 100 degree SoCal summer weather. If Jack Mattson's radiator won't keep your truck cool then you have other issues. Last edited by TopFuel1966; 07-20-2014 at 01:20 PM. |

Re: 1965 gmc 4 row or 4 core radiator
I am running 3 row brass radiator. Haven't had a bit of trouble with cooling my 305e or now 351e. Here are the details:
I like brass in our trucks. Here's my spiel if you want a new radiator. I went through this in a panic a few months ago. Radiator shop couldn't get new core to fix my old one. Radiator shop wanted $500 for a "custom" manufactured replacement radiator. No thanks. Radiators on E bay were $225, but were aluminum from China. No thanks. I found a new copper/brass three row radiator for $186.79 from Rock Auto (www.rockauto.com) supplied by Proliance, made in Mexico. Ended up $207 with shipping. The radiator has connections for auto tranny cooler that I didn't need and was slightly larger on the outlet then my original (1.75" vs. 1.5"). I am well satisfied. One note on measurements that I learned is that they don't include the tank. You need to add the tanks to get overall dimensions. Here is the info from the Proliance site and the part number for it: Regards, Steve New Orleans Part Number - 433284 Make - GM Construction Copper - Brass Core Size - 17 3/8 x 24 3/4 x 2 Number Of Rows - 3 Mount Type - Channel Inlet Location - Top Left Outlet - 1 3/4 Outlet Location - Bottom Right Tank Inlet Size - 2 1/2 x 25 7/8 Tank Outlet Size - 2 1/2 x 25 7/16 Hose Inlet Size - 1 3/4 Transmission Oil Cooler - 1 |

We are a Gold Vendor supporter on this forum, and we make bolt-in radiators for your application:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=591690 We include a built-in trans cooler at no cost (when requested), make them for any engine conversion at no additional cost, and we offer a forum discount! We are an American company, and we build these to order right here in the USA and they are all TIG welded with NO epoxy or glue. |
