Obijuan: mine will be driven every day from yea the mall, to my hunting cabin, to work to pike county mudd boggs and tractor pulling. I want good ride quality (52 & 64 swAps) which is #1 goal outta this. I have 8" lift springs now and it's ungodly horrible.
my trucks up at the ranch or id snag a pic but if you look at where your cab mounts are on your truck right behind front rear shackle theres a body mount for the cab with the 56 it would of bottomed out just driving down the street

Re: 52" Swap Q's

So with 56's it will jam the shakle and all up in the mount? Dam... Guess i gotta do 52's then with a 6" shackle. I found a thread over on ck5 with the swap, will check it about how to move rear mount. Good news then is my rear 52" superlift springs will work for the front! Nice truck btw hope mine'll move that much!

Re: 52" Swap Q's

I put 52s on my 69. Swapped the whole front/rear off an 89 M1008. I cut the hangers off, centered the wheels in the wells, drilled, mounted, whamo done deal. I also modified the front hangers with 2 inch steel spacers (bottom and vertically) to achieve a 2 inch lift (w/o a lift kit) and ORD heavy duty shackles (6 inch). I have yet to reinforce/box the frame and fill the holes, but it sits just how I wanted. Is it gonna be stiff? Yep. But the 454 and NV4500 will settle it down a bit.

Re: 52" Swap Q's

I'm on the same boat. lookin at the DIY4X4 stuff for my 70 k20. I need 6" of lift to fit Humvee 37's under it and trying to learn from everyone else's mistakes.

shackle flip, shackles, springs for the rear,
and whatever needs to be done up front, shackle hanger relocate, new springs, etc..

86k20, it looks like you have pretty much done what I'm looking to do to. Any other hints/tips/don't do's you can add to my list? any and all help appreciated as I'm new to big modifications.
