Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
I'm wondering why nobody has suggested Slosh Tubz. They are prefabricated inner fender wells that will fit a larger tire diameter on bags, but look factory. Very clean look to them.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
Because they weren't available when this 4yr old thread was started. It was only brought back up TTT last week by someone wanting info on N2TRUX's old modified inners from his Blazer (which was sold before Slosh Tubz were even created).

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
Slosh Tubz are great looking but they still allow dust to get into the engine bay + if you have a vintageair system there will be some cut'n that has to be done.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
I'm pretty sure dust can get in regardless. I know both my C10 & dually were dusty & required cleaning w/the OE inner tubs.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
All things relative.... They're equal in price vs if you paid a shop to fabricate & finish out some sheetmetal units.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
Pic is deceptive as it looks like there's more than a 3" gap between the 2 sections. Good start though....

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
Scoti: I made several cuts so they'd meet at a somewhat even plane. Without it, it would look like a 90 degree drop and less original looking.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
When I did mine I just raised the entire inner up 3". I'd do a few things different if I were to do it again, but for the most part it work out alright.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
Finished up the fiberglass, lightweight resin with microspheres (Q-Cell), and body filler...pain in the ass but I like the way they're coming out.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
Nice work. Shape is looking good & has a definite OE flow.

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
****bump****
N2TRUX, do you know if those fenders that you posted had any issues with the wiring harness or a/c components clearance? I'm almost done with mine but I think I may have to make some more cuts to clear these. |

Re: Custom inner fender ideas.
I don't think those inner fenders are the ''custom" fenders this thread is about
