Question Drilling Hole in Brake Pedal 1" Lower

So I read on here that a hole needs to be drilled for the brake pedal push rod an inch lower from the original hole when doing a power disc brake conversion.

So about that... Is the hole supposed to be 1 inch center to center or bottom of old hole to top of new hole or what?

I did a power brake install on my 72' half ton and it was a bolt in procedure with stock components. Get the master cylinder, brackets, booster, push rod and proportioning valve to match your particular set up and its a bolt in. I can't say for sure about using aftermarket stuff but I have seen CaptainFab on here and he makes some nice stuff.

I just installed a CPP disc brake conversion and used what came with the kit.

Re: Drilling Hole in Brake Pedal 1" Lower

Can I remove the pedal without removing the whole assembly?

If youre using a 71-72 stock p brake set up with the pedal rod that the booster comes with you dont have to drill a hole at all. Its not very comfy under the dash esoecially after age 40, but its not avery hard job. Hook up the rod before you hook up the booster.

I drilled the hole. It was center to center.
Pedal then acted WAY! too fast, so I moved it back.
It will not hurt to try and will not harm your pedal lever?
