66 GMC cab small window

I really need this out of my way and dont want to see it go to waste
There is no rust in the floors and rockers are solid as well.
I bought the truck for the other parts that came with it and just have no use for the cab. Windshield and back glass are new as is the rubber seals they are in
The doors and steering column are NOT included but can work a deal with column and autometer gauges if interested
$900.00 for cab shell with glass and $700 for bare cab
Open to offers or trades.... NEED IT GONE

Wish you were closer. I would be all over this. Would you ship the steering column? If so how much. Thanks

Re: 66 GMC cab small window

yes it has VIN and Ga title
I thought of having it sent off to be transfered into my name and so it would be a clear NC title
Just havent done that yet if it is a issue I can do a quick title and have a NC title

Re: 66 GMC cab small window

Yes it has been cut and I honestly dont know how much a stock gauge cluster will cover
The previous owner cut it to install a set of autometer gauges. If your interested I would be willing to sell them with it
if we can negotiate the price for them as well

In all my years of dealing with antique trucks I have never even heard of someone desiring to use old tattered dirty and horrifically ineffective original under-mat parts like this. Doesn't make sense to me given that all of it is reproduced and twice as good as anything original, but my hat's off to you

Re: 66 GMC cab small window

thks, you said it yourself "reproduction". i want what the factory made, if i have original stuff i can remake it with simular parts. you cant recreate original with reproduction parts. plus the quality is better by far given its age and shear use, i wander what repop'd items i will look like in 50yrs... dont get me wrong i have repops, but i live, sleep, dream of these trucks and if i can touch what was made back then it gives me a better feel inside v. building a repop passing as the "real" deal...

You've come a long way Pimpston !! Keep up the good work and effort on originality . I see MANY so called restored trucks sporting every aftermarket part they can buy, the difference is very noticeable. NOS or OEM parts are best, heck who am I preaching to Steve !

OK, I am with you guys don't get me wrong - I am one of the pickiest fools you will ever meet - going great lengths to buy (and spend a fortune on) NOS parts and accessories and re-using worthwhile original parts where the aftermarket has failed us. But original under mat foam and tar matting which contains odors and is unseen in a resto anyway, were simply made from lesser quality materials than today's technology offers - not better. its not an opinion - it's a scientific fact. Regardless I have actually saved that foam and tar matting before from a low-mileage truck I parted out and thought of re-using it one day (why I was so enamored with this thread) and now I do not know where it is if I still have it, but if I find any I have saved I will definitely send your way Pimpston. Back to the value of reproduction parts, I have seen the factory tach and backup lights and found both to be superior to my NOS ones, but something as simple to repop as the new reproduction knobs for the dash do not appear to be the same to me. Last time I checked they did not repop the 65-66 arm rests in the right "Fawn" color either which is super annoying to me since they went through the trouble of making a perfect mold etc and then insist on doing black, Brown and Grey colors - none of which were available in 65-66. So I have to buy NOS armrests as a result.

so funny - pimpston you and I must think a lot alike - so despite being lucky enough to find the armrests NOS, I still had your idea first, so I did have a nice un-cut original that I did spray Fawn. It came out looking great but compared to NOS it still looks painted to me even though its very nice. I may offer it up on this board so you can see how nice it turned out. I would definitely use it if I did not have NOS ones.
