Shipping a top

Anyone have any ideas on how to ship a Blazer top? Money is not a huge issue so any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
James

I bet a car shipping company would do it. I would recommend bolting it to some kind of frame (made out of wood or steel) so that it doesn't flex and brake. Then box it up or wrap it in cardboard or bubble wrap. Maybe even have wheels on the frame under the top so the guys could move it by pushing it around. Just my 2 cents. I haven't ever shipped a top- best way would probably be on a blazer

A couple of years ago we shipped 2 trucks across country by just the members from the board pitching in and hauling them (usually for a little gas money) on their trailers when they were going in the right direction. I hauled a truck from central NE to se MO that came from Oregon and ended up in KY or GA. Another I picked up in PA that came back to NE then on to OR or WA. It can be done with a little patience and help from the board members.

The best way to ship the top is with a flatbed company. One that will pick it up and diliver it on the same truck. The more the top is handled the more likely it will be damaged. Where is the top at and where does it need to go? I can call a trucking company that I know that could do it pretty reasonably priced. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Are you buying or selling a top? I have a nice double wall top and a perfect rear hatch that I would sell. I live just north of San Diego and would sell it on a pick-up vice shipping.

Why dont you give me a call and you can come up and look at it. I can go 2 different ways on the top and it would be best if you could look at it. Make me a godd offer on the top with the back hatch that is on it now and then with the extra perfect back hatch. The rear hatch that is on the top now has a big aluminum support covering the hinge area and works great. If it was polished it would look great. Like I said give me on my cell (760)522-8669 it is my cell and I can be reached on it all the time.

I just received a top today I had shipped from near Dallas to Tucson AZ. I went through a company in Dallas they drove to the place to pick up the part.

Craters & Freighters
13510 T.I. Blvd Ste 106E
Dallas TX 75243
ph 972-680-0177

fax 972-680-0178
dallas@cratersandfreighters.com
They crate and do residential pickup and delivery.
I called over a half dozen places they had the best rate I could find. My top was crated by the seller. But the cost to ship was $386.93.

I would recommend they crate it (not sure of that cost) reason is if they crate it and it is damaged they will cover it. I was pleased with them.
