How much antifreeze in radiator?
I drained my radiator on my 64. It has a 327. Some antifreeze came out of the engine. I installed a new stat in it. Only about 5 gts came out of it. Is that about all there will be in the radiator?

Re: How much antifreeze in radiator?
run it for a few min with the cap off rev it to 1500 to 1700 it will suck the coolant down and around your cooling system and your heater core while its doing that pour more coolant in till your full run till stat opens and does a cycle if there is and air left in the system it will burp it out

Re: How much antifreeze in radiator?
I drill a 1/16" hole through the T-Stat. This will allow the air to escape for easier filling without the motor having to be heated up.

Re: How much antifreeze in radiator?
I got 2 gal h 20 and 1 gal antifreeze in my 1962 stock radiator after getting it fixed. I like more water, around 25 to 30 percent. For desert heat water cools faster. Doesn't get freezing cold often enough to have to change mix. The diesel is 50/50 for travel.

Re: How much antifreeze in radiator?
That would be the man who owns the shop and builds radiators. Water dissipates heat faster than antifreeze. Read chart on bottle. Water by itself is not great it needs some properties of coolant additives for pump seals.
